What is the study about?

The Persistent Pain Research Group at the University of South Australia invite you to be a part of a study to help design a community-based peer mentorship program for people with knee osteoarthritis (OA). Peer mentorship refers to one-to-one support between two individuals with the same health condition, one who has been trained (Mentor) and one who is seeking support (Mentee).

The goal of this study is to co-design this program. Co-design means that the researchers work closely alongside the research participants to collaboratively design the peer mentorship program together.

This study ad is specifically recruiting people who live in or near Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Who can participate?

This study will recruit people with knee osteoarthritis (OA).

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • are 18 years of age or over
  • currently live in South Australia (Mount Gambier or surrounds)
  • are fluent in English, and
  • have knee osteoarthritis

What will I have to do?

If selected to participate, you will be required to partake in one workshop that will involve researchers and people with knee OA. The workshop will be held face-to-face (in Mount Gambier) and will last for 3 hours. The workshop will include discussions and small group activities.

Benefits
