The Joyner Scholarships are offered at all three South Australian universities (provided appropriate disciplines are available). The information below is only relevant to applicants pursuing a research degree through the University of South Australia.
Note that all eligible applicants to the University will be considered for the Joyner Scholarships, and the relevent Dean of Research or their delegate will nominate their most qualified new students for consideration by the panel.

When applying for a Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) Scholarship or University of South Australia Postgraduate Research Award (USAPA) Scholarship the top ranking students in a fine arts discipline will be considered for this award. It is valued at 10% above the current RTP stipend rate.
Applicants must be studying in the areas of pictorial (drawing, painting, printmaking, photography), plastics, new media, jewellery, textiles, sculptural, film, digital media or glass. Note art history, curatorial studies or drama are not considered fine arts for the purposes of this scholarship.
When applying for a Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) Scholarship or University of South Australia Postgraduate Research Award (USAPA) Scholarship the top ranking students in a science discipline will be considered for this award. It is valued at 10% above the current RTP stipend rate.
When applying for a Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) Scholarship or University of South Australia Postgraduate Research Award (USAPA) Scholarship the top ranking students in a health sciences discipline will be considered for this award. It is valued at 10% above the current RTP stipend rate, or 10% above NHMRC medical rate if the recipient holds a MBBS.
When applying for a Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) Scholarship or University of South Australia Postgraduate Research Award (USAPA) Scholarship the top ranking students in a law discipline will be considered for this award. It is valued at 10% above the current RTP stipend rate.
Applicants should hold a first class honours degree in an appropriate discipline, be eligible to enrol for a postgraduate research degree at one of the three South Australian universities, and be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents. NZ residents or citizens are not eligible.

The scholarships are applied for in conjunction with an application for a Research Training Program domestic (RTPd) Scholarship, or University Scholarship. No separate application is necessary. Scholarships Officers will forward the three highest ranked eligible candidates from their current Order of Merit list.
