Collection and use of personal information collected from the UniSA website

The University of South Australia (UniSA) collects information regarding the use of the UniSA website.

Some of this information is provided directly by persons accessing the UniSA website inputting their personal information. Other information is collected automatically by UniSA through the use of business tools. 

The information collected by UniSA via its website is related to, and used for, UniSA’s operations.

Type of personal information collected and its use

The following types of personal information are collected through the use of the UniSA website.

  • Information provided by a person accessing the website in order to obtain further information from UniSA (e.g. information provided on an enquiry form). This information is used by UniSA to respond to requests for information and may be used for direct marketing of UniSA services. Opt-out options will be included in all direct marketing material.

    • enhance the targeting of advertisements to you
    • track usage patterns
    • target information regarding UniSA services
    • enable social media features. 

Essential cookies are required to support the functioning of the UniSA website. Generally, these cookies do not collect personal information. All other cookies are non-essential. These may collect your personal information. Non-essential cookies can be disabled within web browser settings prior to accessing the UniSA website. This may alter some functionality otherwise available on the website.

  • Information regarding website usage is recorded by UniSA for statistical purposes using analytics services including Google Analytics. The information logged includes:
    • IP address
    • date and time of accessing the website
    • web pages accessed
    • type of browser and operating system.

Storage and disclosure of personal information

UniSA will store personal information which it collects securely. Access to personal information is restricted to the person who requires access to fulfil their role at UniSA.

UniSA may disclose personal information collected through the UniSA website to UniSA’s service providers located in Australia or overseas. These service providers have privacy policies relevant to the handling of personal information they receive from UniSA available on their websites.

  • LinkedIn (tracking pixel for ad retargeting)
  • Google Optimise (A/B testing and optimisation)
  • VWO (A/B testing and optimisation)
  • Siteimprove (analytics, accessibility and search engine optimisation)
  • Sizmek Versatag (advertising, URLs tag, monitor page views)

UniSA may disclose personal information to Adelaide University.  Adelaide University will be the successor in law to UniSA by operation of the Adelaide University Act 2023. Personal information may be disclosed to Adelaide University for purposes related to the transition of UniSA to Adelaide University
