Welcome to the new School of Engineering. We focus on electrical and mechanical engineering and its application to industry for the benefit of the community, the environment and the economy.
Our leading engineering degrees give you a hands-on learning experience. Many student design projects are conducted within UniSA’s world-class research concentrations and final year projects engage heavily with industry. Your career will be off to a flying start.
We maintain an outstanding national and international reputation in applied research. Including leading edge research in systems engineering at the Defence and Systems Institute. Our school also undertakes collaborative research both locally and globally, aided by our proximity to Technology Park and links with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation.
The School of Engineering is also home to the UniSA Aviation Academy, the oldest aviation school in South Australia. Now offering in 2013, new programs in Human Factors, focussing on risk assessment and safety management.

The Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment is a world-leader in engineering teaching and research, boasting standards of academic excellence in engineering and technology that have been ranked amongst the top 100 universities in the world, the top six in Australia and the only university in South Australia in the 2013-14 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
These results follow recognition from Excellence in Research Australia for the Division’s global vision and outstanding dedication to industry research with the achievement of a world-class or above rating for more than 86 per cent of our university’s assessed research. This includes a ranking of 4 for Engineering – a performance above world standard.
